David Ortiz is siding with the Red Sox in their ongoing beef with Rafael Devers.

In an Instagram story Friday, he posted a picture of himself next to his No. 34 at Fenway Park with Rick Ross’ song “Hustlin’” as background music.

“The thing is that to have some like this at boston you have to just not be a hitter you have to be the full package a all the way around Player,” Ortiz wrote. “go sox @redsox.”

He also added: “Best organization is baseball.”

Part of the friction between the Red Sox and Devers stemmed from the fact that Devers refused to play first base following Triston Casas’ injury.

Devers, speaking to reporters Friday before his first game against his former team, provided some clarity on why he handled the situation the way he did.

“I put up some good numbers in Boston and I feel like I earned some respect,” Devers told reporters, through an interpreter. “If they would have asked me at the beginning of spring training, yes, I would have played [first].”

Ortiz, who was primarily the Red Sox’ designated hitter but also played first base periodically, told The Athletic that the communication between the Red Sox and Devers “wasn’t the best at the very beginning.”

“At some point, you have to realize the organization has the power over everyone,” Ortiz said. “They can play you, trade you, let you go. Sometimes, as a young player, it’s hard to understand that. But they have the power to do whatever they want. The only thing you can control is what you do on the field.”
