Prosecutors have identified a Malden man as the victim after he died from serious injuries sustained in the crash.
The second victim of a fatal Beverly plane crash has been identified, prosecutors said.
Joseph Puciloski, 28, of Malden, died earlier this week after he was seriously injured in the June 19 crash, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office. He was flown to a hospital via medical helicopter shortly after emergency responders arrived.
Puciloski was the only passenger on the single-engine plane, which crashed just before 9 a.m. shortly after taking off from Beverly Regional Airport, according to Beverly police. The pilot, Geoffrey Andrews, 30, of Melrose, was pronounced dead at the scene.
First responders found the two men trapped inside the badly damaged plane, which appeared to be resting against a utility pole, according to authorities. No injuries or property damage on the ground were reported, officials said.
The Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board, and State Police detectives are investigating the crash, but the cause hasn’t yet been determined.
