Two people were found dead in a Brockton apartment Wednesday night, the district attorney said.
Authorities are continuing the investigation into an apparent domestic murder suicide that happened Wednesday evening in Brockton.
The Plymouth District Attorney’s Office identified one of the people killed as Yoraily Santos, 18, and the other as Starli Roa Tayeras, 22.
Brockton Police received a 911 call from the landlord at 642 North Main St., saying that his upstairs tenant had found his son and his girlfriend on the floor of their residence dead, the Plymouth District Attorney’s Office said.
Brockton police, fire and Brewster EMS responded to the scene. First responders found the woman, Santos, on the floor of the kitchen with multiple gunshot wounds, the DA said. Police found the suspect, Tayeras, on the floor of the bedroom with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities found a firearm near Tayeras, according to the DA.
Based on a review of video surveillance from both the interior and exterior of the apartment and statements from witnesses, investigators believe that the only two people inside the apartment at the time of the shooting were Tayeras and Santos, the district attorney said.
Witnesses allegedly told investigators that Tayeras and Santos had a history of domestic violence.
